The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance
The rising star boasts considerable social media presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known backers when she starts her first LPGA appearance later this week.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple courses worldwide and often competes against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to compete and have fun," she explained.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has played in only three events this year and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
But she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He represents the top athlete globally," Kai stated.
"And he's an even better person. He told me to go out there, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, including world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Officials commented that involving Kai brings golf to different demographics, particularly reaching younger fans.
Kai has a massive following and just introduced a personal clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
